Wallace & Company constructed a 4,553 sq. ft. single-storey wood-frame health and administration building for the Xa’Xtsa (Douglas First Nation) in Tipella BC. The facility includes a community health and multipurpose room, staff kitchen, reception area, offices, medical exam and treatment spaces, administration spaces, and general staff support areas.
The structure was built on a concrete slab-on-grade with wood framing and engineered wood trusses. The entry and exterior canopy feature glulam beams, columns, and tongue-and-groove wood decking. Site work included clearing and grubbing, subgrade preparation, concrete sidewalks, and gravel parking. Infrastructure upgrades provided new BC Hydro and Telus services, a back-up generator, septic field, water connection, and stormwater system.
